What we stand for
Three promises behind every object
Personally selected
Each object is hand-selected for its authenticity, provenance, and character. We prefer to offer fewer objects than one we do not fully stand behind.
Documented research
With every sculpture, you will receive documentation of the specified period, the material, and the available provenance, along with our guarantee of authenticity, a certificate, and an invoice.
Delivered with care
Orders are packed per item and shipped worldwide fully insured. Rare and valuable items can be transported via personal courier.
From fire-gilded bronze to hand-carved teak
The gallery features Buddhist and Hindu sculpture from across Asia: Himalayan bronzes, Burmese lacquerware and teak, Thai and Khmer stone statues, and Chinese and Japanese objects. What they have in common: age, quality, and character.
Research you can read
The 1stbuddha Journal publishes the research behind the gallery: mudras and symbolism, materials and techniques, and the methods we use to examine an object before it is offered.
