Estimated value: €12,000 – €18,000. Antique fire-gilded bronze Buddha statue from Tibet, dated to the 17th–18th century. The Buddha is depicted seated on a double lotus base and making the teaching hand gesture, Vitarka mudra. The statue is traditionally hollow-cast and features original fire-gilding (mercury gilding) in high-carat gold, of which clear remnants are visible over the entire surface and along the inner edge of the underside. The gilding shows natural wear on protruding parts and retains gold residue in recessed areas, consistent with prolonged ritual aging. The combination of size, weight, and fire-gilding is characteristic of Tibetan religious statues from this period. Dimensions approx. H 40 cm x W 23.4 cm, weight approx. 5.8 kg. An authentic Buddhist statue with clear art-historical and material value, offered at a significantly lower selling price.
