Old Thai Bronze Musicians Set – 3 Handmade Figures
Retail price: €295.–
Nice old set of three Thai bronze musicians. The figures are small, but have a lot of character. You can see immediately that they are handmade: the postures are not quite identical, the faces differ subtly, and the instruments are simply but recognizably rendered.
The set consists of a larger seated drummer and two smaller musicians. Together, they form an atmospheric group that fits well with Thai temple art, music, and traditional court culture.
The bronze has a warm, aged color with remnants of gilding, light oxidation, and signs of wear. That gives the figures exactly the weathered look you seek in older Asian objects.
Beautiful as a small set in a display cabinet, on an altar, among Buddha statues, or as a quiet detail in an interior with Asian art.
