Estimated value: €450 – €650. Antique Tibetan bronze statue of Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom and insight, seated on a lotus base. The figure is depicted holding the sword of wisdom in the raised hand, symbolizing the cutting through of ignorance. The other hand is held in a posture appropriate for holding a text or attribute. The statue is traditionally hollow-cast and displays a deep, natural patina consistent with age. Manufactured in Tibet and dated to the 19th century. Height approx. 13.8 cm, width approx. 10.9 cm, weight approx. 1 kg. This is a religious statue with both spiritual and art-historical value.
