Set of two Chinese bronze foo dogs – lot 101

Estimated value: €650 – €850

Unique! Set of two Chinese bronze foo dogs – lot 101

This set consists of two Chinese foo dogs, cast in bronze and executed as a matching pair. Each statue measures 12 cm high and 12 cm wide. The total weight of the set is 1.4 kg, creating a sturdy and massive impression despite the compact size.

The foo dogs are powerfully modeled with open mouths, distinct legs, and a robust body structure. The design is recognizable and consistent within this type of Chinese animal figure, with a weathered surface that gives the bronze extra character. The two statues are clearly intended to be placed together and visually form a single unit.

A compact yet striking set of Chinese bronze foo dogs, suitable as a decorative pair on a cabinet, sideboard, or in a display case, and attractive to lovers of Chinese art and characterful bronze objects.
